This is a series of paintings from my beginning painting class at the Maine College of Art. We were told to bring in objects to paint. This could have also been homework. I played around with contrasting colors in some of these areas. If you look at Captain Pepper's (in blue) paints, you will see a yellow tone on the left and purple on the right. This shows the play with contrasting colors. These are colors opposite each other on the color wheel.
This is an oil painting on canvas. It was painted on thin stretcher bars. If you would like me to add a wooden frame around the edge, just the option for this at checkout.
