Supplies for “Sewing Machine Tips” class.

Below please find the supplies that I recommend for cleaning, oiling and threading different sewing machines. These are for my classes that are found in my Clubs. Find information here: https://www.weftandwillow.com/shop/classes

I also have links to some of the fun tools that I had around the studio. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. I have also included local businesses in the Chico area.

Sewing Machines featured: Janome Skyline S5 (S9 is the latest), Baby Lock Brilliant and Vintage Singer Featherweights can be found at Cathy’s sew and Vac. I found a version of the Janome on Amazon. Many people who visited my studio loved my Singer Featherweight table. I also shared the type of bobbins that you can get for both the Janome and the Babylock machines. You can find these below.

New Sewing Machine Needles: I recommend a Multipack of Universal needles. The Dritz Needle threaders are perfect for threading a hard to read needle. The Hicarer tools are also great for holding a needle as you change it. This prevents the needle from falling in to the machine and you take it out.

New Thread: The threads below can be found at Cathy’s Sew and Vac. Moonlight Quilters specializes in Aurifil thread.

Polyester for clothing. This has a bit of stretch to the thread. This is helpful for clothing that moves around while wearing. I like the Gutermann Polyester thread.

Cotton for quilting. This is a strong thread that can handle the intense ironing that quilting can endure. I like Aurifil 50 wt and Gutermann 50 wt.

Organizing your threads is important. I love the Keep your Bobbin Thread tools.

Sewing Machine Oil:

I have two different versions. One I keep in the studio. The other I use for travel. The other items are useful for cleaning in the hard to get areas and for general dusting.

Sewing Tools that I love! I love when magnets are used for organization. My mini vacuum was also recommended by Mimi G. I loved supporter her with my purchase.
